Church Renewal

Outreach North America continually researches renewal resources and our churches' needs so we may offer more effective training, and so we may provide a variety of tools to our congregations.  Tools which will help our churches to:

  • Renew the spiritual lives of members and their families;

  • Regain their commitment to evangelism and outreach work in their communities;

  • Strengthen the vision and ministry of the congregation.

The Following are tools we recommend.

From Embers to a Flame
www.emberstoaflame.org

A revitalization program developed by Dr. Harry Reeder, Senior Pastor at Briarwood Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Birmingham, AL.  This four-day conference is designed to establish and implement a biblical paradigm for church revitalization by focusing on the three "R's" of revitalization...remember, repent and recover. This conference stems from Dr. Reeder's own need to discover God's heart for the church.  His first pastorate was at a church that had shrunk dramatically from 900 members to 65.  This is not a "how-to" conference on church growth, but the strategic application of a ministry philosophy rooted in a biblical theology of church revitalization.

There is also a book From Embers to a Flame:  How God Can Revitalize Your Church by Harry L. Reeder  III, with David Swavely (Phillipsburg, NJ:  P & R Publishing, 2004).
